We are a small local family firm, based in Horwich (Bolton).
 

We used to buy empty houses from auctions & estate agents, refurbish them and sell them.... but that all changed in 2007....

 

DMT Property was formed after we discovered there was a massive hole in the market for selling houses.

 

The only viable route to sell a house for most people had been to list with an Estate Agent, and this is a good service that meets their requirements, however for some people, speed is of the essence and in this current market, this route could take many months.

 

People were being forced to go down this route because there was not really any alternative. There was a CRYING NEED to sell your house more quickly, but it just wasn't possible.  People who needed to sell their houses fast, looked for viable alternatives, however, the more they tried, the more frustrated they got:

 

  • people were missing out on buying their dream house because they couldn't sell their own house quickly enough;
  •  

  • people were building up massive debt because they couldn't sell their house quickly enough in order to release locked-up equity
  •  

  • people who were moving to another location, needed to sell before they moved, but couldn't sell quickly enough - and consequently were being forced to rent in their new location AND pay for their original mortgage on a house which they weren't even living in!
  •  

  • people were being repossessed, because they couldn't sell their house quickly enough to pay back the mortgage lenders. The number of people in danger of being reposessed is rapidly growing, creating a massive requirement for people to sell quickly.

    DMT Property was set up by David and Julie - a husband and wife team - to help local people with local problems.  When you talk to us, you will soon realise that we have a strong "how can we best help you?" attitude, unlike some other property firms who's attitude is more like "how can I bag myself a great deal?". 
     
    We live in Bolton.  We have lived here all our lives and we both went to the same local school!  We shop at the local supermarkets, ocassionally fatten up at the local McDonalds, spend hours in Toys R Us, goto the local cinema for the next big kids blockbuster (how many more TOY STORY films can they make??) and swim at the local pool with our children.... 
     
    There are no sharp suits, shiny oak desks, slick salesmen or company BMW's here... it's just us two... two Boltonians with young children in a local primary school and we're here to help you.

    Rather than buying vacant houses and then learning the heartbreaking stories from the neighbours about the "lovely family" that were evicted and now sleeping on a couch somewhere, we wondered if we could get to help people before the bailiffs were changing the locks.
     
    This is what we do... we help people before things get too bad. 
     
    If you get repossessed, you're unlikely to get a mortgage again and the lender can pursue you for upto 12-years to recover their money from you, as they will sell your house for whatever they can get (typically at an auction, well below it's true value) and you remain liable for the difference, including all their fees for evicting you, their legal fees, using bailiffs and imposing extra penalties too - it's possible you could lose your house and still have to pay back tens of thousands of pounds to your lender for the next 12-years.  We can stop all that from happening.
     
    We market our services through newspaper adverts, leaflets, postcards and even by talking to court staff about reposession hearings.
     
    In recent times, we've also had phone calls from local Estate Agents who have heard about us, to see if we can help one of their clients that needs to sell their house within a month or face losing it and living on the streets.
